ALEPH BET

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER

Our School

Aleph Bet Early Childhood Center provides full-time and part-time options for children ages 13 months to 5 years old. Aleph Bet was founded based on Jewish values, traditions, and community. We pride ourselves on providing a close-knit community and child-led learning environment to enhance our student's learning and growth.

What makes Aleph Bet different?

Rooted in Jewish Values
Aleph Bet was founded in 2003 to provide a small, close-knit community to the Chattanooga area. The Jewish values of Chesed (kindness), Tzedakah (Charity), and Tikkun Olam (Improve the World) are the foundation and are what guide the learning here at Aleph Bet. Children are given the opportunity for Jewish enrichment learning both in the classroom and from community members and volunteers. In addition, children learn about the Jewish Holidays and participate in a weekly Shabbat Snack.

Child-Led Learning
Aleph Bet's curriculum philosophy is focused on child-led learning and using the environment as the third teacher. Aleph Bet teachers are observers, documenters, and planners for their students. As observations are made, teachers are able to provide additional learning opportunities and support to delve even deeper into their interests and early childhood learning and development.

Programs

Older Infant

Starting at 13 months, children are invited into a warm and welcoming classroom. Teachers provide a stable and loving environment to encourage growth and development. Providing individualized instruction and curriculum, children learn social-emotional techniques, self-regulation, and small muscle development.

Toddler

As children transition to the Toddler classroom, they begin to take on more responsibility for themselves and their environment. Children lead their learning through play and exposure to different topics. At this age, the focus is on pre-literacy, small muscle development, and growing their independence.

Preschool

Transitioning to Preschool 3s and Preschool-K allows children to take charge of their own learning and interests. Children continue to learn through play and exploration and continue working on self-regulation and small muscle development.  Children interact and play with their peers, learning how to work together. In the Preschool-K program, children continue their learning to prepare them for their future.
